Water Main Leak Thursday, March 13, 2025
There seems to be some misinformation about the recent Boil Water Notice. I would like to clear up any confusion about this event.
Whenever the water system experiences a break and loses pressure, a boil water notice must be issued due to concerns about potential bacteriological contamination.
The State Water Resources Control Board provides publicly available templates for this notice here: https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/drinking_water/certlic/drinkingwater/Notices.html.
The boil water notice will remain in effect until our water lab provides the water sample results to our office.
California regulations related to drinking water require two sets of water samples taken at least 24 hours apart. The second set of water samples was taken today, Wednesday, March 19, 2025. We expect the results to be available tomorrow afternoon. Once we receive those results, the water district office will notify our water regulator, who will provide JRCWD with the information needed to lift the boil water notice.
More information can be found here on the district's webpage: https://www.jrcwd.org/boil-water-notice
